Shelf Portrait 2017
Jacquard Woven, cotton warp, silk linen weft, found objects 29" X 59"

Objects we cherish, collect or are attracted to often reflect our psyche’s desires.  They can even represent, metaphorically at least, the characteristics that we outwardly exhibit or repress. The creation of Shelf Portrait 2017 has been a journey from the question “What has been my undoing” to the understanding that this “undoing” – in the form of experience- functions like a homeopathic remedy – a repetition of self – a fortifier for the soul.
As a visual narrative, this collection of images and objects tell parts of my story. All of these parts reflect the ongoing mundane to the poetically strange, a curious assemblage that is a life lived.
