A Gothic Tale

Picture
Hand Woven, cast hands, found materials
I always wish to evoke a desire in the viewer’s mind to create a narrative for themselves. When I create a work I engage in a similar process. I find a piece of text that evokes a desire in me, to create a textile narrative around it. The written works of Ann Radcliffe, who’s writing in the late 18th century arouse terror and curiosity through events apparently supernatural and macabre, inspires a Gothic Tale. Taken out of context, new conditions for interpretation allow for varied and imaginative responses.
